SUN JUL 21 5!/T/22.64 Mt. Tam + Muir Beach MTB/Gravel Adventure
Leader: Kenneth Pack     (209) 380-7904    text
Meet at 8:30 am for a 9:00 am start
Pre-registration

Ride up Mt. Tam from Mill Valley on Old Railroad Grade, which manages a consistent 5% grade for 1,800 feet with sweeping views of Marin. We'll break at West Point Inn and refill water, then drop Stagecoach Fireroad + Coastal View Trail all the way to Muir Beach, with some fun singletrack thrown in to get us off the highway.

From Muir Beach, we'll climb Dias Ridge + Miwok Trail back to Mill Valley, with lunch + beer at Super Duper Burgers (vegan + veggie options available).

This is a great cross-country MTB ride, with no technical features to speak of. Gravel bikes with 40mm tires or better are also a-ok, you'll just have to pick your lines a bit more and watch your speed on the descents. We will stop for water once, so please bring two full bottles or a hydration pack. Snacks, layers, and flat repair kits are also strongly encouraged.

Meetup at Mill Valley Depot at 8:30am for coffee at Equator. We'll roll out at 9:00am. This is a no-drop ride, with good options to bail early if you need to. We'll group up frequently at the top of climbs and bottom of descents. Should be back in Mill Valley about 1pm, but depends on our pace.

Route here. Please download to your phone/device if possible. Parking is available along Miller Ave, in the neighborhood, or at one of several public parking lots.

  3. California Civil Code section 1542 states: 'A general release does not extend to claims which the creditor does not know or suspect to exist in his favor at the time of executing the release, which if known by him must have materially affected his settlement with the debtor.' I specifically waive the terms of that section, and agree to release claims that I may not yet know of, or which may be based on events that have not yet occurred.
  4. If I am allowing children under the age of 18 to participate in any activity, I agree on their behalf to the terms of this Release. I agree that if, notwithstanding this Release, I, the minor, or anyone on the minor's behalf makes a claim against any of the persons or entities Released, I will indemnify those persons and entities and hold them harmless against all expenses, damage or costs, including attorneys fees, arising out of that claim.

If, in the course of performing volunteer service for Grizzly Peak Cyclists, I provide or develop any software, procedures, data, maps, cue-sheets, artwork, or other material in which I have any ownership or copyright rights, I grant to the club license to copy, modify, retain and use such material in perpetuity for its purposes without compensation either implicitly by this agreement or by any compatible explicit license. Such grant is not needed for presentations or writings intended for one-time use, such as meeting presentations or items sent to the newsletter.
