Start Location: San Rafael - Marinwood Community Center

We'll ride through San Geronimo, Sam P Taylor, and Olema to Bear Valley Road and Limantour Beach. Bring a snack to eat at Limantour or pick something up in Olema. On the return, we will stop in Pt Reyes Station for a proper lunch, but that is after about 42 miles. There is quite a steep climb on the return from Limantour, hence the ! in the rating.
Here is the route on RideWithGPS.
Pre-registration is appreciated. There is sometimes a faster (more like M pace) group on this ride, but we all come back together at frequent regroups and lunch. Be at the start by the meeting time, or you may have to chase.

Meet at 5:20 pm for a 5:30 pm start
Start Location: North Berkeley BART
Pre-registration
Please join us for a weekly Thursday evening ride. This is a short ride but with a steep climb! We’ll head up Virginia St and Spruce to Spruce/Grizzly Peak for our first regroup, then head out along Wildcat Canyon to South Park Rd. From there, we’ll climb South Park, descend, and climb it again as many times as the mood strikes us (usually two or three times is enough, but individual riders can shorten or lengthen the ride as desired). South Park is closed to cars starting November 1st, which makes it perfect for winter riding. If we complete two round trip ascents up South Park then back to N Berkeley Bart, expect about 2,300 feet of elevation gain. This is a great way to stay in shape over the winter!
NOTE: This is a night ride. Come with bright front and rear lights (and make sure they work). 20% chance or greater of rain cancels the ride. Please contact ride leaders with any questions.

You may extend the ride by adding an out-and-back to Point Reyes Station which will add 12 more miles. Current forecast is dry but cool so dress accordingly. Meet at 5:25 pm for a 5:35 pm start
Start Location: El Cerrito Plaza BART
Pre-registration
This is following in the tradition of BARTable mixed terrain, but skipping the trickier stuff at the end since it will be dark and cold. We will be following this shorter route. Start is move to El Cerrito Plaza, also ride ends at headlands brewing if it's not too late/cold. The forecast is looking pretty clear between now and the ride, but I can't rule out the possibility of mud. Rain cancels, rain the prior day reroutes to be mostly road. Bring lights bright enough to see by. A headlamp is handy here if you have one but the dirt sections will be mostly flat/up hill.

Start Location: San Rafael - Marinwood Community Center

NWS forecast for Nicasio says 3/4 to 1 inch rain tonight and 70% chance light rain tomorrow. I'm sorry to have to cancel our ride.
This week we will ride a big loop starting at Miller Creek and going through Pt. Reyes Station (snack), Bear Valley, Olema, and Bolinas, where we stop for lunch. Then it is up the long, quiet climb of BoFax Road, down to Alpine Dam, and into Fairfax. Finish with the short steep climb over Fawn Drive. A bit shorter than our usual rides, but with enough hilliness to make up for it.
There is sometimes a faster (more like M pace) group on this ride, but we all come back together at frequent regroups and lunch. Arrive by the meeting time if you don't want to chase.

Mandatory pre-registration
This ride is on! We may change the route due to trail conditions on Julian, Miwok, and Old Springs trails. We will skip the single track DH on Marincello trail. There may also be a couple of flooded areas due to king tide peak at 10:30am which we will detour around. Please be prepared for some wet and muddy conditions.
Join us for a Bartable mixed terrain ride starting in San Francisco. Meet up at Embarcadero BART. We'll ride The Embarcadero along the waterfront to cross the Golden Gate Bridge, then to climb Conzelman Road to the roundabout, where we will hit the dirt through multiple Marin Headlands fire roads and trails to Tennessee Valley. Be prepared for a couple steep uphill sections. Ride leader will likely hike/bike some sections. At mile 18, we'll take a snack break at Equator Coffee at Tamalpias Junction. From there it is all pavement back to North Berkeley BART.
For this ride it is recommended you have 38mm or larger tires with some tread. Please have all tools, tubes, and water you might need. For all trail riding will have regroups at each trail head to keep the group together. Bring water and snacks for the ride as there is only a short food stop at mile 18.
20% chance of rain cancels ride. Look for update here at end of the day 12/14/24 for trail conditions and weather forecast.

The ride start has been changed to Brickyard Cove on the other side of the pedestrian bridge in Berkeley. (It is the site where the bike maintenance workshop has been held.) We will go north instead of south. Points south of San Leandro Marina have been closed due to debris, etc.

Birding and biking is back! Join Kate and me on this ride along the Hayward Shoreline as we check out a variety of birds. According to recent eBird checklists like this one, we have a good chance of seeing long-billed dowitchers and tree swallows among many other species. Pack your bins and let's meet at the San Leandro Marina Park parking lot at the end of Monarch Bay Drive (see map). If you choose to come by BART, the closest station is San Leandro. I am happy to lead you from there to the start at a strong T pace. A Richmond-Berryessa train arrives at 9:05 and a Daly City-Berryessa train arrives at 9:16. If anyone want to do this ride on Jan 1st let me (Arnim) know - I'd be leaving my place around 7:30am (100 mile loop), rolling through Freestone around 8:30 (possible meeting point for a 78 mile version) and getting to Duncans Mills ca. 9:30 where I will likely stop for beer and ice cream, and leave around 9:45-9:50am. Be sure to let me know in advance; otherwise I may do a different ride instead
Come celebrate the holidays on King Ridge. Stops at Cazadero Market (bathroom and food) at mile 8 and Fort Ross Market (bathroom and food) at mile 35. Greater than 20% rain cancels the ride. Bring lights to be on the safe side.

Be prepared for a couple steep uphill sections. Ride leader will likely hike/bike some sections. At mile 18, we'll take a snack break at Equator Coffee at Tamalpias Junction. From there it is all pavement back to North Berkeley BART.

The ride start has been changed to Brickyard Cove on the other side of the pedestrian bridge in Berkeley. (It is the site where the bike maintenance workshop has been held.) We will go north instead of south. Points south of San Leandro Marina have been closed due to debris, etc.
We will meet at Brickyard Cove at 9:45. We hope that the weather holds.
