This ride is cancelled due to probable rain. See this schedule for a substitute ride on Wednesday, Feb 5, when weather looks a lot better.
This weekly ride often tours through West Marin, but sometimes travels to Napa, Sonoma, or Livermore, depending on the season. We have frequent regroups and usually stop for a real lunch, if it is available on the route. This listing will be updated when the route and leader have been determined, usually by Monday evening. Status updates for weather cancellations will also be posted on the schedule.
There is sometimes a faster (more like M pace) group on this ride, but we all come back together at frequent regroups and lunch. Faster riders should feel free to push on after lunch. Just tell the leader first.

This ride is canceled today/Feb. 6 due to rain. Please join us next Thursday!
Please join us for a weekly Thursday evening ride. This is a short ride but with a steep climb! We’ll head up Virginia St and Spruce to Spruce/Grizzly Peak for our first regroup, then head out along Wildcat Canyon to South Park Rd. From there, we’ll climb South Park, descend, and climb it again as many times as the mood strikes us (usually two or three times is enough, but individual riders can shorten or lengthen the ride as desired). South Park is closed to cars starting November 1st, which makes it perfect for winter riding. If we complete two round trip ascents up South Park then back to N Berkeley Bart, expect about 2,300 feet of elevation gain. This is a great way to stay in shape over the winter!
NOTE: This is a night ride. Come with bright front and rear lights (and make sure they work). 20% chance or greater of rain cancels the ride. Please contact ride leaders with any questions.

No worries, frequent re-groups.

Please join Melissa on this month's TSR to China Camp.
Our ride will start at the north end of Miller Knox park near the restrooms.
We will ride through the Pt. Richmond tunnel, across the bridge, along a short gravel path to make our way around San Rafael's China Camp and circle back to Larkspur on a dedicated bicycle path for lunch at Marin Mart. Bring plenty of water, and snacks.

A few days ago, the Monticello Dam glory hole spillway was overtopping. This only happens every few years. Maybe it still is -- let's find out! Even if not, this is a delightful rural route for the holiday Monday.
The route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49727481. One food stop at the Markley Cove store, about halfway. The route is quite rural with no other supply stops that I know of, so carry extra food plus two water bottles.
Ride pace is TM -- as in real TM, not aspirational. This is not a no-drop ride. Please be prepared to take care of yourself and have appropropriate navigation in case you find yourself off the front or the back. Don't rely on cell phone coverage.
Meet, ready to ride, at 9:00am for prompt departure at 9:10am. Please arrive earlier if you need time for restrooms, or coffee, or to set up.
Pre-registration is appreciated. Carpooling is encouraged. Contact the ride leader if you need a lift there or if you can offer one. Rain cancels -- but the forecast 2 days in advance is for good riding weather.

Start Location: North Berkeley BART

This ride is cancelled due to probable rain. See this schedule for a substitute ride on Wednesday, Feb 5, when weather looks a lot better.
This weekly ride often tours through West Marin, but sometimes travels to Napa, Sonoma, or Livermore, depending on the season. Hello, Grizzlies,
To avoid mud, we will delete the gravel & dirt section of our route and take the less scenic pavement along Anderson Road to the well-marked, San Rafael bike trail. Next, to add some neighborhood flavor, East on 4th Street, north on Union, east on Mission and south on Embarcadero Way to resume our published route on North San Pedro Road.
