This ride begins in mid-town Santa Cruz and follows the coast to Aptos, through the residential hills of Aptos to Corralitos and back along Summit Rd and Soquel San Jose Rd. One portion of Hames Rd (between Aptos and Corralitos) has a pretty steep (~11% grade at max), but relatively brief section before you reach the Corralitos Market. Eureka Canyon Road is a quiet forested road with a steady climb (between ~5% and 9% grade) and takes you to the Summit. Careful on long descent along Soquel San Jose Rd back to Soquel/Capitola. If you take Soquel Dr/Ave back to town, watch traffic… Have fun! |
